35 Year Old Pencil Portrait
My husband went to a family get together last week and his mom brought this drawing that he did of his dad when he was 14 years old...35 years ago! Apparently she had been cleaning out the basement and she came across it. My husband had long forgotten that this drawing even exisisted. It is a miracle that it has not only been saved all of these years but that it survived decades of neglect. The paper is definitely in rough shape, as you can see from the picture below but the

doTERRA Swag
I have a part time job at doTERRA. Yesterday we were told that we were being given a new Nike Pullover so on my break, I headed downstairs to pick it up. After finding my size and thanking the employee on pullover passing out duty, I was directed to a line where I was handed a reuseable bag which was filled to nearly overflowing with an assortment of products. That was so unexpected! What a fun surprise! It felt like Christmas in June! doTERRA is an amazing company to work fo

New Sketchbook
I found this sketch book on a recent trip to the Netherlands and I thought it was perfect for my husband, mostly because the inside pages are unlined, but also because I think his sketches are simply brilliant! I am constantly amazed by his ability to bring life and dimension to a blank piece of paper. I enjoy watching as his sketch takes shape. I like to see the every day objects that he finds interesting and sketch worthy. This talent of his really is a wonder to me because

Time To Get Back To Work
I just got back from a two week trip to Europe and this is me this morning as I contemplate what projects I want to work on in the coming weeks. My mind is still a blank and a bit fuzzy as I try to adjust to the 8 hour time difference between Utah and the Netherlands so here's hoping that the gears start turning, ideas start flowing, and that Blog To Do list starts growing! Come on brain...it's time to get out of vacation mode and get back to work! Go to shotbox.me to learn m

This month's background/wallpaper is dedicated to all the hardworking dads out there! Mary Kay Order
I am a Mary Kay consultant, not because I am in it for the business and the money making aspect of things, but because I enjoy using the products and I want to get a better price for me and for my friends. I get a group order together every few months and I pass on my consultant discount to those who order with me. Because this is just a thing that I do on the side, I am very informal with the way that I take orders and figure out the pricing. As you can see above, I just tak

Ceramic Whistle
With the school year is coming to an end, my kids are coming home with backpacks full of papers, projects and school supplies as they clean out their desks and lockers. My son brought home this ceramic whistle that he made in his art class and surprisingly enough, I knew immediately what it is. It helps that I know my son and his interests because without that insight, I'm pretty sure I would have no idea what this is supposed to be! Can you tell what this odd shape is? No? W

Mother's Day Gift
My oldest son is a wonderful person but he is not very good about remembering things like birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions so imagine my surprise when he sent me a package nearly a month before Mother's Day because he was leaving the country at the beginning of May. I saved that package until Mother's Day, not really knowing what to expect. When I opened it on May 14, I was so touched to find a thoughtful card with a loving, personal message inside as well as a

Mother's Day Cards
Last Friday was my final craft day in my daughter's 4th grade class. Because it was a couple of days before Mother's Day, we made cards and candy bar wrappers as a gift for mom. Some of the kids really got into the project, putting great thought and effort into their words and their designs. Other kids hurried through the project and did as little as possible. Regardless of how much or how little effort was put forth by each child, I hope that mom enjoyed the gift. The collag
