Aztec Design Paper Cup
My youngest daughter just finished her first Junior High School art class. She has artistic abilities but she is not the artistic type. She is a perfectionist. She likes structure. She likes set guidelines and perameters. She likes logic. While art can have those things, many of her assignments had a lot of room for personal interpretation. That really stressed her out! The other thing that stressed her out was the fact that she could work her tail off and do her very best but that didn't mean that she would get a good grade on the project. She put a lot of time and effort into the class (and maybe even a few tears) and in the end she was able to get the grade that she was after. She did learn a lot (mostly about herself and some of her strengths and weaknesses) but I'm not sure that she will ever take an art class again!
This paper cup was one of her favorite projects because it had structure with some room for creativity. Follow the instructions, add a bit of your personal flair, cut, paste and voila...you have a cup! The best part about this cup? She filled it with chocolate and gave it to me for Mother's Day!
