Sea Glass Collage
I grew up along the Central California Coast and when I was a little girl, I loved to walk along the beach and collect sea glass. Back then, it was quite abundant and I was always thrilled with my finds! I loved the different colors and shapes and textures of the glass! I loved the way it felt in my hands, smooth but at the same time, rough. I loved that the sharp, dangerous edges had been worn down to where it was now safe for me to handle. I still love all of these things about sea glass and I still love to search for it as an adult. I have passed that love onto my kids and each time we go to the beach, we search for sea glass together. It is not nearly as easy to find as it was when I was a kid, at least not along the Central California Coast. This collage is a collection from several trips. The pottery came from a beach in Japan and the glass came from various beaches in California, the Dominican Republic and Grand Turk. Seeing this glass brings back memories from our family vacations and also reminds me of my roots and my love for the ocean!
