Some good friends gave our family six of these 3 1/2" square, hand made, wooden "Yardzee" dice for Christmas. They are to be used outside to play Yahtzee, Farkle, or any other dice game. I have been waiting for the Spring thaw and warmer temperatures so that I can play this lawn game with my family. That time is finally here! I am excited to break in these dice and to get started on some outside family fun!
I have also been waiting to take pictures of my Yardzee set. The craftsmanship, effort and love that went into making this gift is something that I have been wanting to document before they hit the lawn, the dirt, the cement or the deck and get scuffed up and stained. I am sure that the wear and tear that is in their near future will have it's own beauty and meaning but for now, I wanted to capture the perfectly clean and unused look of these dice. It turned out to be a good thing that I had other projects and ideas that took precedence these last few months because it just so happens that with the weather warming up, we have started on yard projects. One of those projects was to dig out the cheat grass that is growing in our lawn and replace it with new sod. We had a small piece of leftover sod that fit perfectly into the SHOTBOX! Can you believe that I used real grass as the base for this picture? I love the bright green color and the texture of the individual blades of grass! I love that it looks like these pictures were taken outside! I love that the SHOTBOX is versatile enough to allow me to use my creativity to create the look that I want!
