Sand Dollar Wallpaper

As we welcome in the month of June, we also welcome the onset of summer and nothing says summer quite like a trip to the beach. I wish that I could say that I spent this first weekend of June at the beach but I live in a landlocked state and my beach trips are few and far between. I grew up near the beach so that is where my heart is and I get back to the coast as often as I can. When I am there, I love to walk with bare feet along the ocean's edge, searching for shells and sea glass. On our last trip to the Monterey Bay area, we hit the jackpot when it came to finding sand dollars! We found so many that I finally told my kids to leave some for other people! I think my son found 45 and my daughter found 37! These are a few of the really cool ones that we found. I love the barnacles that are attached to a couple of the sand dollars as well as the greyish black shading on one of them. Most of the sand dollars that we found were white and pristine. We were even lucky enough to find a few live ones and throw them back into the ocean! Going to the beach is always an adventure and it is a blessing to be able to bring back these beautiful souvenirs. Here's hoping that this summer includes a trip to the beach for you and for me!
