When you look at the above picture, it's hard to believe that the apricots are not sitting on real grass, next to a real, whitewashed, wooden fence on a sunny, warm, summer day. But it's true! This picture was shot in my SHOTBOX using the new Panels prototype. This accessory product is still being developed so the pictures below give an idea of what Panels will be like but do not show the actual finished product. I should add that I did not crop any of the below pictures so that you can see how everything fits into the SHOTBOX.
The base for the Panels will be a magnetic board that folds in half that fits inside the SHOTBOX.
There are two slots at the top of the magnetic board that will hook onto the tabs that are currently used to hold the faux leather sling backdrops that come with the starter kit.
Once the magnetic base is in place, you simply lay your desired Panel on the bottom of the base so that it presses up against the back edge.
Next, choose your background Panel. Slip it into the back of the SHOTBOX so that it's bottom edge meets up with the base Panel. Use a magnet to hold it in place.
Place anywhere from 1 to 4 magnets along the top edge of the background Panel to hold it securely in place. The base Panel does not need any magnets as gravity holds it in place nicely. You are welcome to add magnets to the front edge of the base Panel if you feel better about that.
In order to change the base or background Panels, all you have to do is remove the magnets, remove the previous Panels, insert the new Panels, and once again, secure the Panels with magnets.
Changing the bases and backgrounds for your photo shoot has never been easier! Panels take the SHOTBOX to a whole new level! You can learn more about Panels through their Kickstarter Campaign. I'm sure that you will be as excited as I am about the debut of this amazing accessory item!
