"Make A Wish" Birthday Card and Tag

Birthday Card and Tag

Make A Wish Card

1. Cut blue card stock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".

2. Score the center so card folds to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

3. Cut 5 strips of coordinating patterned paper to 3" x 3/4". Adhere them along the bottom edge of the card, making sure that they are spaced somewhat evenly but haphazardly across the face of the card.

4. Hand cut or punch out 5 teardrop shapes from yellow card stock to create the flame. Draw an accent on the bottom corner of the flame with an orangish yellow colored pencil. Adhere them above the strips of patterned paper to create a candle.

5. Cut a strip of white card stock to 5" x 1". Stamp, write or print "Make A Wish" towards the top of the strip. Adhere the strip across the candles, towards the bottom of the card.

6. Cut two 6" lengths of thin ribbon. Wrap one of them around the card so that it is just under the words "Make A Wish" and tape the cut edges to the back of the card so that it stays in place. Tie a bow with the second length of ribbon and using a glue dot, adhere it to the first length of ribbon to the right of "Make A Wish."

Make A Wish Tag

1. Cut blue card stock to 2 1/4" x 3 1/2". Cut top corners at an angle.

2. Cut a piece of patterned paper to 3/4" x 1". Adhere it to the top of the tag between the cut corners so that the top edge is slightly higher than the edge of the tag. Punch a hole through the center of the patterned paper.

3. Cut two pieces of coordinating patterned paper to 1/2" x 1 3/4". Adhere them to the bottom, left corner of the card so that they slightly overlap each other.

4. Hand cut or punch out 2 teardrop shapes from yellow card stock to create the flame. Draw an accent on the bottom corner of the flame with an orangish yellow colored pencil. Adhere them above the strips of patterned paper to create a candle.

My name is Jodie and I am a wife and mother of four. I love to bake, craft, travel, exercise, hike and explore new things. I'm excited to use the SHOTBOX to highlight my creations and to show you how this simple tool can bring light and life to your passions too.

The SHOTBOX is a collapsible tabletop studio that uses high powered LEDs to create a perfectly lit “micro-studio” environment. They are now taking pre-orders to be delivered for Christmas.
