Rustic Barn Painting
I recently went on a four state road trip with my mom. The landscape across much of the drive was stunning! Rural Utah, Idaho and Oregon along I-5 and I-84 were a sea of yellow fields, mountains in the distance and spectacular cloud formations and sunsets. I snapped pictures along the way. I knew that they wouldn't be great as they were taken from a moving car, through a bug stained windshield but I wanted to remember the scenery. The picture below is one that I especially wanted to capture. As I saw the scene I was thinking, "This would make a great painting!" The trip was fantastic! The long drive flew by and before I knew it, I was back home and back to the hustle and bustle of life, my landscape pictures completely forgotten. A few days after my trip, my artist husband presented me with the above 10" x 10" painting. I was completely shocked that he chose the very picture that I thought would make a great painting and surprised me with this beautiful gift! It is one that I will always treasure as it is a reminder of precious time spent with my mom as well as evidence that my husband and I are on the same wave length!
