Casey, The Dog
Years ago, we had a black toy poodle named Casey. A couple of years after we got (and named) him my sister married a Casey so we had Uncle Casey and Casey, the dog. Casey, the dog, was a loving, sweet, energetic animal! He had a big personality and we just adored him! He was definitely an important part of our family. Some circumstances arose and we could not keep him any longer but we were lucky enough to have a family member who was willing to take him, which worked out great because we got to see Casey, the dog, on a regular basis. Casey, the dog, lived to the ripe, old age of 17 and brought a lot of joy to our lives. Above are a couple of journal entries that my son wrote about Casey at age 7 and 8. I get a kick out of the drawings, the spelling, the transformation in handwriting over the course of a year and the way my son filled the page by adding so many "oooooooooooooo's" to the word so. These journal entries are definitely precious to me as are my memories of Casey, the dog!

Photo shot with SHOTBOX and my Samsung Galaxy S7 Smartphone.
Below you can see the setup inside the box. I wanted to photograph a two page spread of a journal so I layed the journal lengthwise in the SHOTBOX since the box is deeper than it is wide. I used the center hole of the topshot feature to take my picture. I did not need to use a background or a base since I was simply photographing the pages of the journal. There was already a base inside the box from my last project so I simply laid the journal on top of it and took the picture.
